The nation of Haiti has found a special place in the hearts of many congregants.
Barb McLeod is continuing her work in Haiti and has established a ministry titled Hearts for Hope. This ministry's objective is to show love to Haitian children through education, food, friendship and the gospel.
Haiti is a poverty stricken nation where basic amenities are hard to acquire. The global economic downturn has decreased the amount of support coming from abroad to the Haitian people through family members and other charities. The people suffer from malnutrition making work difficult for adults and concentration a challenge for the children who attend school.
Most children who attend Barb's school are fortunate to eat just once a day. A meal only costs about 50 cents to provide. Barb will use donations to feed and educate children in her school.
An excerpt from a recent message Barb sent us reads “I am pleased to see that the kids are looking healthier. Giving some of them an extra meal at noon has made a big difference in their lives. I'm hoping to be able to continue it over the summer when I am gone but I have to work out how to do it.”
Please consider supporting these precious children by writing Barb McLeod on your tithing envelope.
